What if NYC?

Disaster-relief Architecture offers an interesting, yet controversial, design opportunity. You don't want FEMA trailers and you don't want people living in an auditorium or cafeteria of a school. I examined possibilities in my Thesis and it's always been a concern of mine having grown up in the Hurricane Alley of North Carolina. After Hurricane Katrina, America was shell shocked. We started to imagine what it would be like if a disaster hit a major city like LA, CHI or NYC. Which is where the premise for What if NYC... came from. It's eerie to say the least, but this is my favorite submission. Studio Lindfors presented a "cloud city" as a response to the possibility that 75% of NYC could one day be submerged under water.
