Chain and Cog Eras!

At DQM! Pretty stoked on these. But WHY OH WHY won't someone do a vans with a harder insole? I want a moulded carbon insole...

  1. EXACTLY!! I hate the way vans fold over the pedal after two rides. Maybe you could market something, some Sidi style carbon inserts for the waffle..

  4. I walked into a Vans store looking to buy purple Half Cabs when I spotted the Grey Cog shoe so I had to get it. I don't know if there is a difference with the soles but, it does have reflective trimming.

  5. A carbon insole in vans completely defeats the purpose of vulcanized shoes, like vans waffle grips to begin with. Waffle grips and various other vulcanized skate shoes were made the way they were made to allow better board feel on a skateboard and pedal feel on a bike. I guess the main reason you guys want a hard insole in a vulcanized shoe is is that you like the style and the lo profile design. I guess that's all well and good, but I doubt that it'll happen, as the extra board feel is pretty much what vans eras, halfcabs, and other vulcanized shoes are famous for.

  6. The "Moon" eras that came out recently had a leather toebox, a STIFF hard rubber sole and mad padding. Probably the stiffest Vans besides those motorcycle ones that came out a few years ago.

I know carbon is overkill, especially for a "skate" shoe. But I saw these yesterday and the toebox is paper thin. Definitely not a "fixed gear" shoe.
